An online study conducted in December 2021 asked registered voters in the United States if they supported schools teaching about the risks of social media. Over 45 percent of respondents across all age groups strongly supported schools teaching the risks of social media. In addition, just 6 percent of those in the 18 to 34 year age group and 5 percent of those in the 35 to 44 year old age group strongly opposed the teaching of this topic.
