Consumers in various UK cities stated an intention to cut back on purchases in the period following Christmas on the grounds of sustainability. According to the results of a survey conducted in the run-up to the 2019 Christmas period, Brighton was the keenest with ** percent of residents in this city expressing an intention to buy less during the post-Christmas sales. In cities such as London and Manchester, this share was above ** percent. Consumers in Scotland were found to be less environmentally conscious, with only a little over half of respondents in Edinburgh and Glasgow saying they would cut back on their post-Christmas sales shopping.
