Consumers are less frugal with their spending on meat substitute products than in most European countries. Per capita spending in Germany has reached 7.7 euros, almost on par with UK spending. While the meat substitute market is flourishing, the German meat market has started to decline. Per capita meat consumption decreased by 9.1 kilograms between 2018 and 2022.
