In a survey carried out in 2025, 78 percent of responding German consumers were aware of the Rügenwalder Mühle Vegan and Alnatura brands. Once a company best known for its meat products, Rügenwalder Mühle now generates over half of its revenue from the sale of meat substitute products and has become a staple in many German grocery stores. Iglo (Green Cuisine) and dmBio Tofu are the second and third most well-known meat substitutes on the German market with 53 and 52 percent of respondents being aware of them, respectively.
