The European relevance ratio for measuring banks' financial solvency is the CET1 (Common Equity Tier 1) ratio. Financial institutions are required by the regulator to maintain a percentage of capital in relation to their risky assets.

As of June 2024, Kutxabank was the bank, among those selected, with the greatest financial solvency according to the CET1 transitional capital ratio. All selected banks' transitional CET1 ratio exceeded *** percent, complying with the European Union's requirements which, based on the Basel III accord, set the minimum standard for fully loaded CET1 ratio at *** percent.
