A survey by the High Council for Equality between Women and Men conducted in October 2022 revealed the opinion of the French on the inclusion of the right to abortion in the Constitution. A large majority of the French are in favor of this constitutionalization. However, 11 percent of the French are opposed to it.
In 2022, 83 percent of the French believe that the law authorizing abortion in France is a good thing. To protect this right acquired in 1975, and to avoid a situation like in the United States, where the Supreme Court overturned the Roe V. Wade ruling that guaranteed the right to abortion, it was proposed to include this right in the Constitution in France.
