This statistic presents the opinion of the French regarding the authorization of voluntary termination of pregnancy by French law in July 2024. Voluntary termination of pregnancy (abortion) has been established in France since January 17, 1975, by the Veil law. It is a medically or non-medically induced abortion. Since March 2, 2022, a law aimed at strengthening this right now sets the limit for abortion at 14 weeks. At the end of July 2024, 85 percent of the French consider the authorization of abortion by French law to be a good thing.
