Among women diagnosed with endometriosis in the United States, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia in 2024, some 56 percent had abdominal or pelvic pain. Other common symptoms include neuropsychiatric symptoms, including anxiety, headache, dizziness, and depression, menstrual problems, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating. These nonspecific symptoms make it difficult for endometriosis to be diagnosed, among other obstacles such as a lack of education/information, causing delayed diagnoses of up to years after symptoms first appear. Despite this, there has been an increase in endometriosis diagnosis rates across all age groups.
