- Premenopause – Menstruation patterns are usual, and there are no menopause-like symptoms (e.g., hot flashes, anxiety, mood swings)Â
- Perimenopause - Changes in menstruation patterns and some menopause-like symptoms
- Menopause - Menstruation stopped within the past year, but not longer than 12 months ago, and consistent menopause symptoms.
- Postmenopause - Menstruation stopped more than a year ago with some to no symptoms. Not sure if menstruation patterns have changed due to medical or other reasons
