According to data from the United States, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia of over 25 million female patients over the age of 15 years with an outpatient face-to-face encounter, the annual rate of new endometriosis diagnoses increased between 2017 and 2024 across all ages. The highest rate of diagnosis is among women aged 35–49 years.
Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory condition in which tissue, like the lining of a woman’s uterus, grows outside the uterus. This can cause pain, infertility, and other nonspecific symptoms, leading to delayed diagnoses, often years after the first symptoms. Moreover, currently formal diagnosis requires laparoscopic surgery, an invasive surgical procedure.Â
