A survey in 2025 found that 40 percent of women over the age of 40 who were undergoing perimenopause, menopause, or post-menopause experienced an increase in dry mouth. Despite experiencing these oral health symptoms, sometimes referred to as "menopause mouth", most women were not aware that they were menopause-related. Furthermore, 45 percent of the women surveyed said these symptoms negatively impacted their confidence, mood, or mental health.
