Leading negative effects of social media Japan 2025, by gender
In a survey conducted in Japan in February 2025, ** percent of the female and ** percent of the male respondents mentioned seeing biased information as one of the negative influences of social media. It was the most commonly given answer among both men and women in this regard, followed by the spread of false and misinformation. The survey also showed that women were much more likely than men to perceive social media as a waste of time and to mention psychological stress due to comparisons with others.
