*The source counts the answers of the survey conducted in December 2024 as figures for fiscal year 2024. The Japanese fiscal year starts on April 1 of the stated year and ends on March 31 of the following year. Figures for years prior to fiscal year 2024 are based on earlier surveys, each with a sample size of 1,500 respondents aged 13 to 69 years old. From fiscal year 2024 onward, the number of respondents increased from 1,500 to 1,800 because of the inclusion of an additional age group (people aged 70 to 79 years old).
Data prior to fiscal year 2024 come from previous reporting.
According to a survey conducted in Japan during fiscal year 2025, YouTube was used by **** percent of the respondents. The penetration rate decreased compared to the previous year due to the inclusion of an additional age group in the survey. AÂ breakdown by age group shows that the video sharing platform was used by a vast majority of people between the ages of 13 and 69.
