Previous years had around 23-24 surgical procedures. In 2024, the number of procedures included increased to 30. New procedures include: scar revision, buccal fat removal, hand rejuvenation with fat grafting, inverted nipple correction, other outer genital surgery, and dimple creation. Moreover, the number of countries surveyed increased from 23 in 2023 to 32 in 2024. giving more validity to the worldwide estimates.

In 2024, a total of **** million cosmetic surgeries were performed worldwide, an increase from **** million procedures the year before*. However, when the number of procedures were aligned, there was actually a decrease in total surgical cosmetic treatments in 2024, a **** percent drop.

The number of global surgical cosmetic procedures experienced a large drop in 2014 and has been slowly increasing ever since. Furthermore, in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, another dip was observed. The two countries contributing the most to global cosmetic surgery numbers were the United States and Brazil.
