According to a survey conducted in April 2024, 57 percent of LGBTQ+ adults in the United States often used social platforms to connect with friends or family. Overall, 30 percent of LGBTQ+ adults in the U.S. often used social media to connect with friends who belonged to the LGBTQ+ community, and just over one in five respondents used such networks frequently to find new friends in the community. Furthermore, 16 percent of respondents frequently searched for information about their sexual orientation or gender identity.
