Counts are based on original scripted series airing or which are expected to air in primetime between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024 for which casting has been announced and confirmed by networks.

In the United States, in the 2025 season, 40 percent of LGBTQ characters on streaming content providers were gay, and 29 percent were lesbian. Only one percent was asexual.
