As of July 2023, nearly half – 49 percent – of parents and guardians surveyed in Brazil said their children aged nine to 17 had accessed online ads they deemed inappropriate for their age. Almost 10 percent of respondents reported not knowing whether their children came across such ads on the internet. According to the same study, the age group exposed the most to improper online ads in Brazil was 13-14, mentioned by 54 percent of the adults responsible for them.
