'Alternative social media news consumers' are the six percent of U.S. adults who report regularly getting news on at least one of the following social media sites: BitChute, Gab, Gettr, Parler, Rumble, Telegram or Truth Social

U.S. adults on associations with alternative social media sites 2022
According to a survey conducted in the United States in 2022, 22 percent of alternative social media news consumers said that lack of censorship or alternative to Big Tech was the first thing that came to mind about alternative social media sites. Overall, 11 percent of those who had heard of the sites but did not use them thought the same. Additionally, 16 percent of those who did not use alt-social media platforms said they associated the sites with inaccuracy and unreliability.
