In December 2022, the Avatar-sequel - 'Avatar: The Way of Water' was released with much fanfare. Its 3D visual effects for some fans warranted a viewing in a movie theater. About a fifth (21 percent) of survey respondents in the United States said that they planned on seeing the movie at a movie theater. 37 percent said that they would watch the movie at home or on a streaming platform. While just over 40 percent of respondents had no intention to watch the movie.
