In December 2022, the Avatar-sequel - 'Avatar: The Way of Water' was released with much fanfare. Its 3D visual effects for some fans warranted a viewing in a nonstandard movie theater. Approximately two-thirds of those who said they would watch Avatar at a movie theater said that they would do so at a nonstandard one. While 34 percent of respondents said they would watch the movie at a standard theater, 14 percent were looking to do so at a 3D theater, 29 percent at an IMAX theater, and 23 percent at an IMAX 3D theater.
