According to a survey carried out in April 2022, more than 40 percent of Colombians believe that 脕lvaro Uribe, whose presidency lasted from 2002 to 2010 but who remained as a very influential figure in Colombian politics ever since, should retire. Another 30.2 percent thinks that Uribe, under investigation for his alleged links to paramilitarism and witness tampering, should go to prison.
