According to a survey conducted in 2021, 81 percent of respondents in Uruguay expressed trust in the elections of their country. On the opposite side, only 22 percent of respondents in Colombia had the same trust in their electoral system. Uruguay was also the country with the least level of tolerance for military coups due to corruption among all the Latin American and Caribbean countries surveyed.
