In 2021, 29 percent of Germans would pick Olaf Scholz of SPD to be Chancellor, while 16 percent would choose Annalena Baerbock, leader of Germany's Green Party (Die Grüne). The survey was conducted in September 2021, asking respondents who they would pick to be the Chancellor of Germany if the election were held now.
