During a survey conducted in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic in April 2020 – therefore amidst the COVID-19 pandemic – around 84 percent of respondents said they thought contactless payment was a cleaner way to pay. Approximately 78 percent of the people surveyed stated that they would continue to use contactless payment even after the pandemic was over.
