In March 2020, when many U.S. consumers were self-isolating at home due to the coronavirus outbreak, the most popular genre on major SVoD platforms was drama, with percent of viewers watching content in that category. Action and adventure was also popular, making up **** percent of total SVoD viewing in that month. Whilst there were mostly only small fluctuations between audiences' viewing of certain genres between January and March 2020, in the latter month there was a clear increase in the share of viewers watching science fiction content.
