During the general elections held in Uruguay on October 27, 2019, the candidate Daniel MartÃnez, who represents the current governing coalition Frente Amplio, obtained the highest number of votes, amounting to almost 940 thousand. With this preliminary result, MartÃnez will have to face the second most voted candidate, Luis Lacalle Pou, in a runoff election on November 24th.
