Television consumption in France - statistics & facts
Is television going out of fashion? At a time when the world of linear television seems to be struggling to remain relevant in the lives of French people, catch-up TV and video streaming are rapidly gaining ground with many consumers. As of 2024, more than two thirds of French people claimed to watch television every day. However, while 2020 recorded an unprecedented increase in television viewership, audience figures have been steadily decreasing as the average television viewing time reached an all-time low that same year. The consumption of TV shows is suffering from the same fate, with 2024 marking a sharp decline after plateauing the year prior.
