Free ad-supported streaming TV in Europe - statistics & facts
Despite not reaching North America in terms of revenue, the European free ad-supported streaming TV market has the fastest developing countries when it comes to the growth rate of channels. In fact, the number of channels on Amazon’s Freevee in the UK increased by 42 percent between March and December 2023, while large providers in the U.S., such as Roku and Redbox, are losing ground. Moreover, in an industry dominated by subscription services, FAST featuring linear channels serving ads is making a remarkable uptick in Europe, with a penetration rate more than doubling between 2020 and 2023 and a forecast suggesting further growth in the upcoming years.
