Worldwide, the United States registered the highest number of new asylum seekers in 2024, reaching over ****thousand applications. Moreover, hundreds of thousands have fled the civil war in Sudan, which explains the high number of asylum seekers in Chad and Egypt that year. In addition, temporary protection was the most common form of asylum granted.
