War, conflict, and instability have forced millions to leave their homes, particularly during the last decade. More than six million people have fled the civil war in Syria, millions have fled instability in Afghanistan, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 led to millions of Ukrainians fleeing. However, many end up as internally displaced within their country, as is the case in Sudan.
