The question was posed as follows: 'Thinking about your country, do you agree with the following statements:
People should be able to take refuge in other countries, including in my country, to escape from war or persecution'. 

**Aged 18 years and older in India, 18-74 in Canada, Republic of Ireland, Malaysia, South Africa, Türkiye, and the United States, 20-74 in Thailand, 21-74 in Indonesia and Singapore, and 16-74 in all other countries.

A majority in all except one of the ***countries surveyed agreed with the statement that people should be able to seek refuge in other countries to escape from war or persecution, even in their countries. The highest levels of agreement with the statement was Sweden and Argentina, whereas South Korea had the lowest level, with only ***percent of its population agreing with the statement.
