The source pointed out that consumption of nuclear energy is specified on the basis of gross production and without consideration of cross-border electricity supplies. The conversion is done on the basis of thermal equivalence, which is assumed at 38% for a modern power plant. The values prior to 2000 are taken from previous publications.
In 2024, there was no nuclear power consumption in Germany. This figure decreased steadily as the country prepared to phase-out this energy source in 2023. Before the withdrawal, in 2022, the generation of electricity from nuclear in Germany was at **** terawatt-hours, down from ** the year before.
