Figures are based on gross generation and do not account for cross-border electricity supply. ’Input-equivalent’ energy is the amount of fuel that would be required by thermal power stations to generate the reported electricity output.
This report was previously published by BP.
Nuclear energy consumption amounted to input-equivalent exajoules in 2024, up from input-equivalent exajoules in the previous year. In the period of consideration, figures increased by nearly ****input-equivalent exajoules. The United States had the largest primary nuclear energy consumption worldwide.
