Energy generation outlook in Germany 2040, by source
Wind power is expected to become Germany's most important energy source by 2040. Onshore wind farms are forecast to add 144.1 terawatt hours to the country's power grid, while offshore plants are set to add a further 122.7 terawatt hours. The outlook for underlying nameplate capacity of wind farms suggests over 100 gigawatts of wind turbines would be installed by 2040.
