As Germany prepared to exit nuclear power at the end of 2022, the country's production of nuclear fuel decreased steadily. In 2022, Germany generated a volume of *** million metric tons of oil equivalent. By comparison, before the decision to withdraw from nuclear energy, the nuclear fuel produced amounted to over ** million metric tons of oil equivalent. Germany phased-out nuclear power in April 2023.
