Despite their growing transaction volumes, stablecoins remain a marginal presence in global payments when measured by market penetration. Overall penetration stood at just **** percent in 2024, reflecting how early-stage adoption still is relative to the scale of traditional payment flows. Penetration varied considerably across payment categories, with C2C recording the highest rate at **** percent, suggesting that peer-to-peer transfers represent the most established use case for stablecoins to date.
