* In 2024, the survey was conducted in the following 28 markets: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam. Therefore, the global average in 2024 included twice as many economies as in 2014.

** Total number of respondents across the 28 markets surveyed in 2024. In 2014, the source surveyed 400 persons aged 15 to 59 in each of the 14 markets included that year, i.e., a total of 5,600 respondents.

Between 2014 and 2024, and among the presented markets, the popularity of the music genre K-pop increased the most in Japan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE): The percentage of respondents assessing K-pop as very popular in those two countries rose by over ** percentage points over 10 years. On a global average, K-pop's popularity went from little more than ** percent in 2014 to over ** percent a decade later. In the United States, little more than **** of people surveyed in 2014 identified K-pop as very popular, versus almost **** of the participants in 2024.
