Respondents were asked whether they had an "oshi" with regard to VTubers. The term is used to describe something or someone one enthusiastically supports as a fan. Activities undertaken with the aim of support are called "oshikatsu."

According to a survey conducted in Japan from October to November 2025, **** percent of VTuber fans had a VTuber they supported. The word "VTuber," a short form for "virtual YouTuber," refers to video content creators that use computer-generated avatars. The term was coined by the Japanese VTuber Kizuna AI and has also been used for similar content creators of other video platforms.
