Among the European Commission personnel, Italians are the most represented nationality, at over 4,500 employees, ahead of Belgium and France, with 4,300 and 3,300 employees, respectively. Even though the UK left the European Union in 2021, around 400 British employees are working for the Commission in 2024. The Directorate-General for international partnerships was the most staffed Commission's department, with around 3,000 employees.
