As of 2024, a majority of European Union citizens agree that the European Parliament should become more or less important within the EU, with ** percent of respondents agreeing compared to only ** percent who thought the parliament should become less important. An additional ** percent of respondents thought there should be no change to the importance of the parliament in the EU, while percent said they did not know.Â
There is significant divergence between the opinions of citizens in different EU countries, with ** percent of Cypriots, ** percent of Spaniards, and ** percent of Greek believing that the parliament should increase in importance, while ** percent of Czechians, ** percent of Slovakians, and ** percent of Bulgarians preferred the opposite.Â
