A Limited Territorial Validity (LTV) Schengen visa is valid only for the country that granted the visa, preventing the holder from travelling to other Schengen states. As an exception to the Uniform type C visa, It is only issued for humanitarian reasons, for reasons of national interest, or international obligations. In 2023, Switzerland authorized more than 32,000 LTV visas, followed by Spain and Germany.
