Nearly ** percent of total Schengen Area (uniform) visas issued in consulates located in Russia were multiple-entry visas (MEVs). In other words, they allowed to spend travelers up to ** days within an 180-day period with a possibility to re-enter without having to applying for a new visa. The highest share of MEVs over the observed period was recorded in ****, prior to the war in Ukraine and subsequent entry restrictions for Russian tourists. In total, around thousand MEVs were issued in consulates within Russia in 2024.
