According to a survey conducted in the United States in July 2023, 40.1 percent of Generation Z who downloaded Threads said they did so because it looked fun. Overall, 38.7 percent downloaded the app because they wanted to try a new platforms, and 25.7 percent said their friends or family were using it. Additionally, one in five users said they were looking for an alternative to X, formerly known as Twitter.
