Overall, Spanish public opinion is slightly more positioned against than in favor of Spain joining NATO in a military intervention in support of Ukraine, according to a survey carried out in February 2022. Nevertheless, stances change depending on the age of those surveyed, as young people appear to be less prone to military intervention than older generation. 62 percent of those surveyed whose age ranged from 18 to 29 years were against Spain joining NATO if the organization intervened in the conflict, while 52 percent of people aged between 45 and 64 supported joining such military intervention, the age group where support was more widespread.
