In a survey conducted in September 2021 asking Southeast Asians of legal driving age which car type they would consider for their next purchase, combustible-engine cars fueled by petrol or gas were the most popular choice in Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia. In Thailand, ** percent of respondents considered buying an electric car, while ** percent of respondents from Singapore voiced interest in hybrid cars.
