A global online user survey found that avid gamers were more likely to follow gaming influencers than casual gamers. As of July 2021, ** percent of respondents who played video games for at least ** hours per week followed gaming influencers like Twitch streamers or YouTubers, whereas only ** percent of overall gaming audiences (with at least *** hour of gaming per week) did the same. Gamers from India, Indonesia, and China were most enthusiastic about following gaming influencers, with approximately a quarter of all gamers and around ** percent of avid gamers doing so.
