In 2020, video game revenues in Colombia were estimated to amount to approximately *** million U.S. dollars. Confined to their homes for months and unable to engage in outdoor activities, an increasing number of Colombians turned to video games for entertainment. In a matter of months, the number of gamers in the South American country jumped from *** million before the lockdown enforced, in March 2020, to *** million when it was lifted in September. Among the segments with the highest growth during this period were mobile games, which saw a 14-percent increase in consumption.
