In St Domingue (present-day Haiti) in 1788, 29.5 thousand slaves were recorded as having disembarked from 98 different vessels in six major ports. On average, this means that there were over three hundred slaves aboard each ship. The averages per ship ranged from port to port, with the lowest average of 204 slaves per ship arriving in the port of ´³Ã©°ùé³¾¾±±ð (albeit, from just one ship), and the highest average of 361 slaves per ship arriving in ³¢Ã©´Ç²µÃ¢²Ô±ð.

The source does not specify whether the slaves were transported aboard purpose-built slave ships, or if the slaves were transported in the hold of other cargo ships.
