Between January and May 2020, only three out of the eight at the time running presidential candidates in the United States spent money on Facebook ads related to the coronavirus. Michael Bloomberg spent 570 thousand U.S. dollars on Facebook ads related to the topic of COVID-19 in the measured period. At the same time Donald Trump spent the second largest amount, 220 thousand U.S dollars on Facebook ads devoted to the same issue.
