The debate regarding sustainability in the fashion industry is rising and consumers' positive attitude towards sustainable behavior is becoming more popular. According to a survey from 2020 by , ** percent of Italian respondents bought second-hand apparel, shoes, and accessories more or less occasionally. On the contrary, ** percent of interviewees declared that they would never purchase second-hand fashion items.
The results of a further survey revealed that second-hand shops were the preferred channel to buy clothes in among eight percent of Italian consumers.
